A practical furniture sample approval checklist
Turn a good-looking sample into a measurable reference for production, packing and inspection.
Record what was approved
Photograph the sample from consistent angles and record dimensions, materials, hardware, stitching, finish, comfort and function. Keep signed or otherwise traceable finish and fabric references with the sample record.
Review packaging at the same time
Confirm protection points, hardware packs, assembly instructions, carton marks and the handling route. For bulky furniture, packaging and loading efficiency can materially affect landed cost and damage risk.
Define the inspection boundary
List critical defects, acceptable workmanship variation, measurement tolerances and the evidence required for any claim. Compliance and testing requirements must be checked for each destination market and product type.
